December 2025 Newsletter – A big year for the club with a lot of achievements and socialising!
President / Committee Column
Hello everyone! The committee have had their final meeting for 2025 and would like to wish all of our members a safe and happy festive season. 2025 has been a big year for the club, between hosting multiple tournaments, ramping up the social events, fundraising efforts, installing a new heat pump and kitchen equipment, new merch and celebrating our club members successes. With 2026 fast approaching I’m excited to see more of the same next year with Football hosting the biggest squash tournament in the country in August (New Zealand Secondary Schools) and the New Zealand Junior Open in March, alongside the Festival of Squash.
Security of the Club – Over the holiday period we ask all members to be more aware of the safety of our club ensuring you check all doors are locked, all lights including in all changing rooms, the lounge and hallways are off as you leave the club, even if you have not used these areas yourself, as there may not be anyone coming in after you that day. Additionally, if you are unable to use your court booking please release it as this allows other members to be able to book the court for their use. From a bar perspective please ensure all chiller doors are completely closed so that the chiller efficiency is not compromised, and the bar door is locked as you leave. It would also be appreciated if no cash outs are processed on eftpos over the next month as there is limited cash received over this period.
If you have any issues over the Christmas/New Years period please contact Bianca (0276686444). The football email will be checked periodically during this time however there will be a delay over the holiday period. We appreciate your understanding.
Join the 2026 Committee – there are 8 current committee members re-standing which leaves 5 positions available on the committee for next year. Multiple roles are available and we ask you to consider if you are able to be involved with the running of the club next year, in particular if you have an interest in funding or juniors, or our club in general! Nominations will need to be in by early January so we can advise all members prior to the AGM. Contact footballsquash@gmail.com or Bianca (contact details as below) to state your interest. We are also looking for general helpers next year so get in contact if you are interested in helping around the club external to the committee.
AGM date is the 28th of January 2026, 7.30pm. We aim to have the AGM agenda and annual report out in early January. We would love to see you there!It has been wonderful seeing everyone around this year, so as the final comms for 2025 have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we all look forward to seeing you around theclub in 2026!
